Velocity Reflect Launch System
Unreal Engine 5
Blueprint
Velocity
Collision
Movement
A simple and reusable Blueprint Actor that reflects incoming actors based on their current velocity and impact normal. When a Character or any moving Actor enters the collision area, its velocity is reflected symmetrically and applied back โ creating a bounce / launch effect.
How It Works
- Event: triggered by
On Component Begin Overlap. - Calculation: takes the character's velocity and the hit normal to calculate the Reflection Vector โ no fixed directions.
- Action: applies the vector with Launch Character (XY and Z override), so it works with Character Movement.
- Extendable: simple, clean Actor Blueprint with a demo level included.
Use Cases
- Bounce pads, launch zones, puzzle mechanics and movement-based gameplay systems.
